Uk -Europe -Dubai Trip - Part 11

Brussels - Belgium

You can see two great sights here -The Automium & The Mini Europe Park . The Atomium is a prestigious Munument of Belgium like the Eiffel Tower for France. The Atomium is a monument built for Expo '58, the 1958 Brussels World's Fair. Designed by André Waterkeyn, it is 102-metres (335 ft) tall, with nine steel spheres connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell (Atom) of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times.

Tubes which connect the spheres along the 12 edges of the cube and all eight vertices to the centre enclose escalators connecting the spheres which contain exhibit halls and other public spaces. The top sphere provides a panoramic view of Brussels. Each sphere is 18 metres in diameter.

Adjacent to the Atomium is the MINI EUROPE park where all the great places of Europe are made to a Minuature Size. It is an amazing park.

The Bullfighting Mini Arena of Spain - you can see Mini Bulls and men (all Mechanical) fighting and you can hear the crowd cheering.

Uk -Europe-Dubai Trip - Part 10

Cologne - Germany - This is the most amazing Cologne Cathedral. The construction of the 515 feet tall wonder began in the year 1248 & was completed in 1880. They are cleaning up the exterior with a very high cost.

The interiors are full of Stained Glass paintings which are the best in the whole world. One must remember that at that period there were no modern paints and mixing ingredients.

The colours were achieved by powdering Gem stones and applying them using Glue

The German Highways are called AUTO BAHN. There is a speed limit for Busses & TRucks (120 Kms per hour) but Cars do 180 to 200 Kms per hour. Look at the video and you will get an idea of the speed.

Germany - We entered from Switzerland into Germany and drove to the Black Forest. Have you eaten the Cake by the same name in Chennai. The name is derived from this forest. The trees are dark brown like Chocolates and in the Winter Snow settles on top of the tree looking like the cake we eat - Chocolate with Cream . Ondru mattum Nichayamaiyya - avanga ooru Black Forest cake sahikkala. They pour some wine etc - orey Pulips.

The houses in Germany are very different. The patterns in front of every house denotes something like our Vaasthu. For explanation on this subject call Shobhaa Ramji on 93800 06934.

This part of Germany is famous for the Cuckoo Clocks. The clocks are made of this particular brown wood. The rule there is that if you cut down one tree you have to plant seven.
